We are seeking a Market Research & Policy Analyst (Part time) to join our team. Work will include conducting energy market research and creating written content, including blogs, white papers, strategy decks, and sales collateral for clients. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, detail-oriented researcher, and has some knowledge of the clean energy industry. This person also thrives in a fast-paced, unstructured start-up environment, and is excited to learn about new clean energy technologies. Specific skills include data analysis and manipulation using Microsoft Excel.

Core duties
  • Conduct technical research of clean energy and sustainability topics, including aggregating, organizing, and analyzing large data sets 
  • Distill research finding into clear, succinct writing that addresses client goals and requests  
  • Advocate for and deliver high-quality creative output that drives credibility, awareness, and business results
  • Communicate regularly with clients, internal project team members, and external parties
  • Participate in virtual meetings with team members and clients to discuss strategy, deliverables, and other project-related activities
  • Maintain a clean, safe home office work environment
Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 1-2 years of work experience, with experience writing about clean energy and/or sustainability topics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data modeling and visualization
  • Ability to conduct structured and methodical research that integrates data from various sources, adheres to project scope and timeline, and delivers clear, discerning findings 
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, and the ability to adopt style, tone, and voice of various types of content
  • Demonstrated professionalism through courteous and timely communication with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as adherence to writing and brand standards
  • A passion for sustainability and clean energy, as well as some demonstrable technical industry knowledge
Preferred qualifications
  • Graduate degree (or currently pursuing) in energy policy, business, or other related field
  • Familiarity with GIS, Python, Javascript, and/or other programming/data analysis tools   
  • Experience in a client-facing role
