Case Study

ForeFront Power

Prior to launching DG+Design, David Ganske served as the Sr. Director of Marketing for ForeFront Power where he led marketing, design, communications, and messaging for a new energy brand.

About

ForeFront Power has more than 15 years of renewable industry experience, serving business, public sector, and residential power customers around the world. The team has developed over 900 MW of capacity across more than 1,000 projects, targeted on assisting public sector agencies and C&I firms to deliver the most impactful behind-the-meter, community solar, and wholesale solutions.

ForeFront Power is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui & Co., Ltd., a global energy infrastructure and investment leader. Mitsui brings a strong balance sheet and global presence to its partnership with ForeFront Power. The company offers substantial financial liquidity due to its strong profitability and is proud to have a credit rating of A from Standard & Poor’s and A3 from Moody’s.

Challenge

In February 2017, Mitsui & Co., Ltd. successfully acquired SunEdison's Commercial & Industrial Division and formed a new entity known as ForeFront Power.

"SunEdison’s C&I Division has been at the forefront of commercial and industrial solar generation development for over a decade, and with a track record of having developed over 800 megawatts, is globally recognized as an industry leader in C&I distributed solar generation." (ForeFront Power)

Despite the history of leadership under SunEdison, ForeFront Power needed a new brand to re-enter the marketplace after lost time during SunEdison's bankruptcy. This new brand would need to create a lasting impression by building upon the success of the past while motiving employees and energizing the public for the future. Moreover, it needed to set a full marketing foundation to jumpstart sales and reestablish itself as a trusted renewable energy developer.

Solution

Prior to launching DG+Design, David Ganske served as the Sr. Director of Marketing for ForeFront Power where he led marketing, design, communications, and messaging for a new energy brand. This work included an integrated approach across all corporate activities. Scope included:

  • Logo and Branding
  • Website Development
  • Corporate Messaging and PR
  • Conference Preparation and Booth Design
  • Print Collateral and Production
  • Photography and Video

Nearly three years after the creation of ForeFront Power, the company has established itself as a leader in behind-the-meter and community solar project development.

Most recently, ForeFront Power announced that the company would have 47 megawatts of completed community solar projects in New York by the end of 2019. This occurred at the New York Energy Research and Development Authority's (NYSERDA) event at ForeFront Power's Mechanicville Community Solar Farm to announce that the state reached two gigawatts of solar energy capacity.
