Pivot Energy is a national solar provider that develops, finances, builds, owns, and manages solar and energy storage projects. Pivot offers a distributed energy platform that includes a range of services and software aimed at serving the full solar ecosystem. Pivot operates on a triple bottom line basis, measuring success by the positive impact on people, the planet, and profit.


Being a national leader in the development of onsite solar projects and community solar projects keeps the in-house Pivot Energy marketing team very busy. Creating and managing the level and quality of content that allows Pivot to remain at the top of a competitive field is demanding, especially when content is just one piece of their overall marketing strategy. While there are a number of content marketing agencies around, the Pivot marketing team found that it took months to get them up-to-speed on how to write for solar clients. The need for a firm with direct industry experience inspired them to reach out to DG+.

Our existing industry knowledge facilitated streamlined workflows and ensured top-quality content in the form of blogs, flyers, lookbooks, email campaigns, and updated website messaging for their cloud-based community solar software solution, SunCentral.

DG+ continues to deliver monthly marketing initiatives to support Pivot's continued growth. In Q1 of 2023, Pivot also engaged DG+ to conduct a competitor analysis that captured both commercial and community solar US market conditions and trends across twelve states. The analysis provided an evaluation of ten competitors in the commercial solar market, and six in the community solar market. DG+ analyzed robust data from reputable sources like the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), in addition to data from individual developer websites, to develop a tailored assessment of Pivot’s focal market share, competitive outlook, and growth potential. The final report included high-level snapshots of commercial and community solar markets across the country, in-depth competitor tables with information like installed capacity and market activity, and SWOT analyses that can be used to inform Pivot's long- and short-term growth strategy.
