The Global Energy Transition: A Photographic Journey

VERGE 2023

From coal plants in Colorado to solar energy in Uganda, David Ganske has spent over a decade capturing the way energy is produced and consumed around the world.

Here, he tells this story through the lens of his most powerful and engaging photographs. David’s narrative uses these photographs to provide a historical perspective and narrative on how energy impacts our lives every day and the costs of using carbon intensive fuels. His work focuses on the energy transition underway to advance renewable energy, energy efficiency, and decarbonization programs.

This exhibit will include a selection of 20-30 of the most impactful photographs from David’s collection. The location can be flexible and it will include gallery style walls built from sustainable materials along with framed images for viewers to engage and absorb the work. Moreover, a silent auction can occur for the photographs whereby the proceeds would go to a relevant non-profit entity, such as GRID Alternatives, to support equitable, community-powered solutions during this energy transition.
